WELCOME TO THE POWER STUDY

The POWER project aims to prevent the deterioration of cognitive functioning and improve mood in adults with depressive symptoms through non-pharmacological interventions such as diet, physical exercise, and cognitive training.

Who are we?

POWER is an international research project funded by national agencies and co-funded by the European Union (ERA4Health Partnership, NutriBrain 2024 call). It brings together a multidisciplinary team of physicians, biotechnologists, psychologists, and bioinformaticians from centers of excellence in Italy, the Netherlands, France, Ireland, and Taiwan.

Coordinated by the IRCCS Fatebenefratelli San Giovanni di Dio Research Institute in Brescia, the project aims to translate scientific research into concrete interventions for the mental and cognitive health of individuals with depressive symptoms.

We believe in the synergy between clinical research, biology, nutrition, and neuroscience to build a healthier and more informed future.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for men and women aged between 50 and 80 with a diagnosis of major depression or depressive symptoms, who do not have cognitive impairment.

Individuals interested in participating will be enrolled in a free study that includes educational lessons on the Mediterranean diet, physical exercise sessions, cognitive training meetings, or the use of a dietary supplement. All interventions will be supervised by qualified professionals.
