Andrea Baragetti

Associate Professor

Andrea Baragetti, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Milan, where he works in the Laboratory of Pharmacology of Cardioimmunometabolic Diseases, Department of Pharmacological and Biomolecular Sciences “Rodolfo Paoletti”. His research explores how the immune system, especially its innate component, contributes to the development of metabolic diseases such as obesity and type 2 diabetes. Currently, his work focuses on understanding how these immune and metabolic processes interact along the gut–liver–brain axis, a key communication network in the body. Using advanced experimental techniques, including preclinical models and “omics” technologies, his goal is to uncover new insights into how inflammation and metabolism are linked, with the long-range goal of identifying new strategies for disease prevention and treatment.
