Amit Kumar

Postdoctoral Researcher

Amit Kumar, PhD, is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience, University College Cork. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from HPTU, India, and completed the Master of Pharmacy (Pharmacology) from Panjab University in India, where he worked on a ketamine model of schizophrenia. He earned his PhD in Neuropharmacology in 2025 from CSIR-IHBT, India, where he conducted a project on the development and preclinical evaluation of a modified ketogenic diet in three different animal models. His current research focuses on understanding lifestyle interventions to prevent cognitive deficits in individuals with depressive symptoms.
